Three European locations will help test innovative ecosystem restoration solutions

FLOWSAFE has selected three pilot sites across Europe where its innovative restoration solutions will be tested under real-world conditions. The sites are located in Spain, Poland, and Slovenia, representing diverse environmental conditions and flood-related challenges.

Each pilot site provides a unique opportunity to evaluate how nature-based solutions, intelligent monitoring systems, and data-driven analysis can support the restoration of ecosystems affected by flooding.

The project will collect environmental data, assess restoration performance, and validate innovative technologies under different climatic and geographical conditions. The knowledge gained from these pilot sites will support the wider implementation of sustainable restoration strategies across Europe.

The pilot sites include:

  • Albufera Natural Park, Valencia (Spain)

  • Kaczawa River Catchment, Lower Silesia (Poland)

  • Meža River Valley (Slovenia)

By testing its solutions in diverse environments, FLOWSAFE aims to develop practical approaches that can be replicated in other flood-prone regions throughout Europe.
